🌟 November Awareness Overview

This month we’re supporting a range of important health and wellbeing campaigns. Here’s what’s happening:

💜 Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month

  • Often shows no early symptoms
  • Knowing the signs can lead to earlier diagnosis and better outcomes
  • Look out for symptoms such as abdominal pain, weight loss, and fatigue

🥸 Movember – Men’s Health & Mental Health

  • Focuses on men’s physical and mental wellbeing
  • Encourages open conversations and checking in with friends
  • A small chat can make a big difference

❄️ Winter Health & Warmth

  • Keep warm, eat well, and stay active
  • Check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours
  • Layer clothing, reduce draughts, and enjoy hot meals and drinks

🌬️ Lung Cancer Awareness Month

  • Can affect anyone, not just smokers
  • Persistent cough, chest pain or shortness of breath? Speak to your GP
  • Early detection saves lives

👄 Mouth Cancer Awareness Month

  • Look for ulcers or sores that don’t heal within three weeks
  • Early diagnosis improves outcomes and treatment options

💙 Anti-Bullying Week (10–14 November)

  • Highlights the impact of bullying both in person and online
  • Encourages kindness, support and standing up for others

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender Awareness Week (13–19 November)

  • Promotes visibility, understanding and support for transgender and gender-diverse people
  • A time to listen, learn and show allyship

♿ Disability History Month (14 November–20 December)

  • Celebrates the achievements and voices of disabled people
  • Encourages conversations about equality, inclusion and accessibility

🍽️ UK Malnutrition Week (17–23 November)

  • Raises awareness of malnutrition and its impact on health
  • Encourages seeking support if you’re concerned about yourself or others

🧘 National Self-Care Week (17–23 November)

  • Focus on mental and physical wellbeing
  • Take time for yourself and find what helps you feel good

🍭 Sugar Awareness Week (17–23 November)

  • Highlights the importance of reducing sugar intake
  • Encourages simple swaps and mindful eating habits

💊 Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (18–24 November)

  • Reminds us to use antibiotics responsibly
  • Take them only as prescribed and always finish the full course

👨 International Men’s Day (19 November)

  • Celebrates positive male role models
  • Promotes men’s health and wellbeing
  • Encourages open conversations about mental health

❤️ Carers’ Rights Day (20 November)

  • Recognises unpaid carers and raises awareness of the support available
  • A reminder that carers deserve care and recognition too
